    CAMWorks Setup Sheets

Has anyone had success creating a custom CAMWorks setup sheet template? The templates provided don't provide enough information and are poorly formatted if the user intends to distribute them as hard copies. I have been able to edit information within the title block to add custom entries (to add my name in the 'programmer' section, for example) but reformatting the entire sheet seems daunting.

I would really like to create my own format with all of my own information in the title block and custom title blocks for each part setup. Also, I would like the ability to define the tools used in each part setup with an area to define the tools usage ("3/4 rough mill: removes material in pocket area", for example). That would be added afterward, of course.

Also, the images that get inserted into the current setup sheets have a black background which makes them entirely unsuitable for printing. If this can be changed it would be great but I haven't found a way to do it. Even better would be the ability to set up automated custom views based on a position relative to the part setup axis (Rotate the part to be isometric to part setup #2 then take the screen shot, for example).

So has anyone been able to customize their CAMWorks setup sheets to suit their needs better? Does anyone know a good reference for customizing setup sheets? Solidprofessor doesn't deal with this topic and I can't find any other resource which provides information on it.

Thanks for reading. I hope someone can provide some insight!

A custom tool sheet can be created by editing or creating an xsl file. This file is a stylesheet that displays the xml data created by Camworks. There are limitations to the data that is passed to the xml file by Camworks, not all variable fields that exist in the Camworks dialogue windows will be available in the xml. The xsl stylesheet also has limited functionality in regards to data manipulation.

A great tool to view the xml data file is the application 'XML Notepad 2007', there might even be a more recent version.

There are also xsl editor applications which would be helpful in creating and editing the xsl, both the xml and xsl files can be opened by a text editor.
