I would like to set the default pathway to open a part program to speed things along. I have looked in both books and searched the "search for solutions" thing using the words OPEN DEFAULT PATH PATHWAY, etc. I have done it before but I don't remember how and I don't see it anywhere. (I looked for the .ini file.....is that OLD window speak?) Thanks Nelson

| NEVERMIND I found it. It's in the GALILOI\INI\GLOBAL.FIL I suggest being able to change it in the SETUP perhaps as some other people may transfer programs from the office CAD/CAM desk to the dirty shop with a USB mem stick as we do. Thanks, nelson

| I didn't know anything about this. Below is the content of my global.fil: Did you just change line 2 from C:\AS3000\WORK\ to something like C:\JOBS\ Anybody know what else this file effects? | It's okay to do what nelZ did, but otherwise it's best not to mess with this. It contains a collection of general use internal settings that are public or global to the system. Tech Support CamSoft Corp. support@camsoftcorp.com PH 951-674-8100 Fax 951-674-3110 www.cnccontrols.com

| Hi Karl, Thanks for all your code I haven't paid you for. I'm sure Camsoft doesn't want anybody messing with the other parts of this file but it was maybe the first thing I did. Old Windows programs had a .ini file in the Windows directory which had the default settings for pathways. That's why I found this. Karl, do you do automation stuff at the farm or what? You really know a lot about the program. Camsoft, don't you think this might be a toggleable parameter in the SETUP? Nelson ps. I'm trying to be humble...I knew something before Karl did. Kudos

| I worked as a manufacturing engineer doing all sorts of automation before burning out and changing careers. Then I started refitting old iron to CNC controls as a hobby. Karl |

| The purpose of the file is to save internal settings rather than hardcode them into the system so they could be changed. All of the settings in this file are set thru various menus, fill-in-the-blank boxes or automatic retention thought out the system somewhere. If you have CNC Professional or our CAD/CAM software click on the LOCK ICON / WORK PATH to change the path. Since our CAD/CAM is optional with CNC Lite / Plus or the Graphical Operator Interface software we do it a litle differantly so that we do not to conflict. The mere act of loading a job file from another folder causes the path to be changed for the next time you want to load a file or save one in MDI. Again CNC Lite doesn't use the GLOBAL.FIL to do this so it will not conflict. Tech Support CamSoft Corp. support@camsoftcorp.com PH 951-674-8100 Fax 951-674-3110 www.cnccontrols.com
