No rapid 'problem'

Hello, all. I am new to CamSoft, coming from an old Tree vertical mill, which now has a Camsoft control on it.

I am having good results, but am still have much of my learning curve ahead of me.

Here is my problem:
When I call out a rapid move, my machine travels as if it was in feed mode. Really slooow. Not knowing enough about this program, I am not sure if it's my toolpath writing or my machine parameters.

also, when calling oiut an M6, the spindle takes forever to retract.

Here is a short program I wrote to drill some holes. No where do I see a rapid command. Do I need to specify rapid when creating toolpath, then feed?

Well, your program has no G0 - rapid moves.
Depending on how M6 and G83 was written, they may contain rapid moves.

Test your machine with a G0 move. If you want to go faster, change the maximum speed in CNCsetup. You need to watch for performance issues with your steppers or servos when making changes here.

There is also a RAPIDSPEED command so you can change the maximum speed in any of your macros. I'd do a search on your .cbk for this command to see if this is used anywhere.

Karl, thanks for your help.
.
I'll check my CNC setup.

I will also run a program with rapids in it to see what happens.
