Galil 1842 Cam Soft Pro I checked the Rules page for cutter comp, there were no rules so I Put G41 for left G42 for right and G40 for Off #1. Checked the box for use default, it was not checked. Went to the tool page and set tool 1 size to .5 and saved . Edited comp program to put T1 ahead of G42 and hit go. box popped up and asked to terminate program, I clicked no. next box said Galil error LI 0,0,0,1 in the header. Message was 33VP-CR and LI moves cannot be mixed in a sequence. Clicked no on this box and the next message was Galil error BGS, 24 Begin not valid because no sequence defined. Clicked no on this box and message went away. hit cycle start again and the messages repeated over. Loaded a different program with no cutter comp and same messages. wrote a new MDI job to cut a square. same messages. The big yellow torch is a sitting duck. The Farmer was considering becoming a HUNTER Thank You

| You have other more rudimentary problems with the motion card setup that need to be sorted out first. We don't use these commands so there is something deeper going on. Collect your files, CBK and G code send them tous. We'll take a look , run them here and have you do some diagnostics. If you get a Galil error or the Galil card asked you to terminate the program, it's best to do so. Do not Press Cycle start or continue on. | My first step would be to reboot the computer and load a backup .cbk from when it still worked right. if its still broke you're FUBAR (fouled up beyond all recognition) BTDT Please let me know how to do cutter comp when you get it figured out. Karl P.S. I'm a farmer too. Spent the day putting 1000 bales of straw on the berry patch. |

It is slowly starting to make sense. The CBK file is the instructions for your own machine set up how you want it. every time we make an improvement that works the CBK gets backed up with the machine name date and A,B,C, ect if more than one improvement is made on the same day. I restored the last CBK and the Momma duck got off of her nest. I have to burn 200+ holes 2.375 D in 1" plate at various places to make tube sheet for a boiler. Plan is to write a program in a sub for 1 hole then move to X and Y and call sub to burn hole. On Fanuc Arc I use absolute arc centers and enter from cad drawing. Will I have to change to incremental centers to make this work? Thank You The Farmer

If you need to switch from time to time, copy in Gcodes for G90.1 and G91.1 from this post http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91991 Karl

More than one way to do this. I'd use work offsets, say G54 for main program and a G55 you change every time in your sub. then do everything absolute. I don't like incremental programming, too easy to make a dumb mistake. Karl
