Adapting a new interlogic(THC) to an ats300/galil plasma?

Just acquired an old plasma and I need to Know if I can hook up a new (torch height control) to this unit and how to g-code for thd-disable in corners

Hello kirkchabot,

Is Interlogic's THC a standalone unit? In other words, does it have it's own Z Axis Lifter? If it does, you can probably use it. If Interlogic happens to have it's on Z Axis Lifter, it's most probably that the THC is completely controlling the Z Axis, and there's no need for communication between the Galil Plasma CNC Control Unit.

Standalone THC Units are simple, because you do not need to worry more about the wiring between the CNC control unit and the torch.

This is a stand alone unit but it still needs some interface
input-plasma start(existing)
output-motion start
input-torch height disable

Hmm, is there a PDF document which describes your Galil Plasma's CNC control unit? Can you send it over through a link?

I just looked at the default .cbk for plasma cutters. this feature is part of the Gcodes. There is also a macro for non camsoft THC units it starts like this:

[[Plasma THC 3rd Party Unit]]
' Automatic Torch Height Control for 3rd party Non-CamSoft Brand Units
'
' Digital Input #25 Plasma Arc Good Signal
' Digital Output #33 Plasma Flame On/Off
' Digital Output #34 THC On/Off

I have camsoft pro v 16.6. For my machine, cncsetup.exe is in the AS3000\CNC directory. You may have slightly different directory names and your program may be called setup.exe.

Anyway, once you find the setup program; go to restore and look for plasma.cbk. restore this file, then look in gcode.fil to see the THC disable in corners is part of the Gcodes.

you have a recent version of the world's best CNC control software. I'd contact Camsoft about a maintenance agreement and software upgrade. This will get you all the current manuals as well.

Look for my PM
