Anyone know how to slave 2-drives in CAMSOFT

I have two AD sureservo drives and i really would like to drive two with one signal (i posted on another thread about that) however as a plan B i guess i need to get a third axis and tie two of them together.

I'm retrofitting a gantry where a shaft now allow one servo to drive it. Im going to two drives for the axis.


Anyhow, how does one get the two axis to act as one? I have been oven the documentation and i must have missed it...

Are you using a Galil card? Most Camsoft controls do.

I just did a project where I slaved the Z axis to the spindle for threading. Not what you're doing but I remember reading a fair bit about your project researching mine.

There's a lot of info in the galil manuals. And a fair bit more in Camsoft's manual. Its all there but you'll have to search a bit.

In general you connect each servo, encoder,drive etc. to its own axis. Then tell camsoft and galil these two are slaved.

If it is for the Galil card, go to the Galil site and look at the animated examples, they will show the commands used such as GA gearing command.

I slaved the two amps and fed the master amp the signal i wanted.

Worked nicely.

SureSERVO is cool its just a pain at first.
