Lightbulb Need help! matsuura mv500c serial port.

I want to use cam software with my mv500c cnc machine, but I don't know how to start. Can anyone please help me out.
there is a communication board added in instead of the tape reader. some dip switch on the board can be set for different data format. I tried to send G code to it , one light was blinking. but the cnc read nothing. I really appreciate for any reply.
    thanks ! Tim

You need DNC software. It can be done by really smart folks with just a computer terminal. The rest of us just buy a package and call that vendor's tech. department for help.

Here's a source of articles to read up

    Unhappy

Hi,thanks Karl ! I'll go to the website to learn something at first, because I've got a CAM software and I have no idea about the DNC software now. I'm afraid that if the communication board in my machine had problem then software can do nothing help. also I'm not familiar about my machine, maybe I have operated it in wrong way, so I hope some guys who own the same type machine can give me some suggestion. I'll learn the DNC thing carefully, thank you again, Karl. Tim

You have a BTR (Behind the Reader) Board installed. You need to find out the manufacturer and get the data on your switches. Otherwise you are shooting completely in the dark. Then your DNC software needs to be set up the same.
