Camsoft HMI with other motion controllers

    Hi,

Is it possible to use the Camsoft HMI software ie. cncpro with an other motion control card or software besids the Galil card or is it specific to the Galil motion card..

    John.

In addition to the galil cards, Camsoft has recently been advertizing their own real time motion control card at a considerably lower price.

There's also an inexpensive stepper only card.

May be more, but this is all I'm aware of.

Thanks Camsoft i'll be checking the list out.

Am I correct in saying that your Camsoft HMI software is not built to run with Fanuc Alpha AC servos and drives..at the moment or would it be possible to interface to these somehow...?

    Many thanks for your time,

    John.

    John,

The Alpha's are AC Brushless motors that we could use. It is the amp drives that we can't reuse. There are a few variations so we need to be careful. If you have the documentation for the power side cables from the motors themselves and hall sensors then we could go further to get the amp and volt ratings in order to quote you replacement amp drives to reuse these motors.
