Does Vista Home Premium Work With Camsoft

Hi Everyone,

This Is My First Post.i Have Been Reading This Forum For A Short While. I Have Camsoft's Cnc Lite Arriving On Monday. I Need To Know If Windows Vista Home Premium Works With Camsoft. I Priced A Computer Built With Xp Pro And Cost Was Up There. I'm Looking At A Best Buy Paper, And I See A Computer That Is A Lot Better For 2/3rd,s The Price. I Can Uninstall Some Programs I Don't Need And Take The Start-up Programs Out Of Start-up. Is This Option Feasable?

Thanks
Bowlingmac

I receive Vista update last month. This was not ready until last month on the version 16.4

The Vista computer and camsoft works ok. But I think I like XP better. The Vista keeps asking me many questions if i am sure to run or copy files. I found a way to stop most questions in Vistas new account manager. I have not made up my mind if all this security in Vista is good for me or bad.

Camsoft announced Vista compatible in the August newsletter.

I think you got to be nuts to use it. XP has proven to be a good platform for Camsoft. Why add all the extra bloatware of Vista? You don't need it to to run a CNC machine.

Carlo,
Are You Using Vista Premium? And Are There Any Bugs Other Than Security Hassels.

Karl,
Xp Is Not Readily Available Anymore. To Get One Built By A Computer Store Will Cost 699.00 Without Monitor. To Buy One At Best Buy Store Is 649.00, With 2x The Ram/ 2x The Gb On Harddrive/ Bigger Processor/and With 17" Lcd And Printer. So I Am Not Really Wanting Vista, but To Get A Better Computer For The Money,i'm Looking At Using Vista.

I used Vista for home. No bugs I can see yet. Many Vista securtity messages that I do not like. I also find that only Vista is available on new computers.

I hear ya. Micro$haft is using their muscle to shove their lousy OS down our throats. Couple options; buy a refurbished computer with XP from Dell, Gateway etc; build your own from parts like Newegg.com; just buy XP for $139.

I BUILT THE SAME COMPUTER ON NEWEGG.COM AND CAME VERY CLOSE TO THE SAME PRICE AS MY LOCAL COMPUTER STORES PRICE. IF CAMSOFT WORKS OUT. THEN I POSSIBLE HAVE A COUPLE MORE MACHINES TO RETROFIT WHEN THEY GO DOWN. I NEED TO USE STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR EASE OF REPLACING WHEN COMPUTER FAILS. I MIGHT BE BUYING MORE COMPUTERS DOWN THE ROAD. XP WILL BE HARDER TO GET BY THAN, AND VISTA MIGHT BE UPDATED BETTER(REMOVE SOME OF THE BLOATWARE, OR BE ABLE TO TURN IT OFF). SO I'M LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE. I REMEMBER WHEN XP WAS NEW AND THERE WAS A LOT PEOPLE WHO DID'NT LIKE IT AT ALL. BUT NOW HAVE CHANGED THERE MIND, INCLUDING ME. I DO APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS, KARL AND CARLO.

Good points,

I guess you've volunteered to be on the "bleeding edge" of new technology. Would you please make it a point to update us when there's a few months run time with Vista?
