Is there anyone using Camsoft for controling a cnc turning center in a industrial application? Would you retrofit again. Are the tolerances you are holding the same or better when your machine ran originally? What did your totally cost come to? Thank You |

| Another fella just asked the same question a short while back. read through this thread: http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19103 Long story short: Camsoft is one the of best possible choices for your needs. A price estimate is only a guess without knowing a lot more. Assuming you're hiring the work done, using all new components, you'll be in the 10K range. More if you have a tough tool changer and custom needs. Karl |

| Thank You Karl, I talked to Gary and should here from a retrofitter in my area. The demo cd is on its way. Is there a link to show pictures on how the original drive and computer boards were changed out and how the rest of the install went? I get the impression that all the drive boards and computer boards are taken out and replaced with termernal strips, which then is hook up to (1) motion card and the software has a .cbk file that gives the instructions for the machine to run. Is this correct? Thank You |

| Haven't got pics for you. There's a bunch in the Camsoft literature. I'd need to see your machine, but in general the old computer and drives are scrap. You'll install new servo drives and probably new encoders on the servos. The old computer had all the I/O coming to it. The I/O will be reconnected to Opto 22 input/output boards. There will also be a Galil 1900 or 2900 board to connect encoders, limit switches, and analog I/O. My suggestion to you, draw up a very precise description of exactly how the machine should function. Look at newer machines, not just copy how the old one worked. This will really help your integrator get it right the first time. Good luck, karl |
