I am looking around for some I/O cards to use that actually work with CamSoft Pro. Require minimum 24 input and 24 TTL outputs. Can be both ISA or PCI card versions. I would be interested in Manufaturer and model names and some experiances in this area? I will be adding my own design opto-Isolation board to it. Any comments much appreciated! |

| I actually got 2 Keithly ISA PIO32 boards, and they don't seem to work. The boards are supposed to operate 8255 Mode 0. However when I use the drivers that came with the board (DriverLinx), it works fine. These boards do not have an 8255 chip on it. According to the documentation from CamSoft, 8255 emulated boards don't work. It's a pity, because these boards are really nice as they have the relays and opto-isolators all on the same board. All I need is a simple cable breakout board to complete the process. I also have a good dual 8255 with counter timer board, and it does not seem to respond either, although I my be wrong. I have not spent much time with it. This board cannot be set at the default address 300, but can be set to 310. I have to modify the board to get it on 300, which is not what I really want to do. I also have two Opto22 AC5 boards (ISA), and these show some weird response for some reason. I am busy trying to figure this one out. I really don't want to spend another $300 upwards to get a working board. There is a company called Eagle Electronics I have dealt with for years that make very reasonably priced PCI boards. see www.eagle.co.za A 48 i/o PCI board goes for about $175.00 |

| I've got four of these: http://www.contec.com/products/produ...)&KATASIKI=pio Each card does 16 inputs and 16 outputs. You can put two in the computer. Use with a Opto22 DEC 32 IO board. I'm tempted to try this vendor http://www.accesio.com/go.cgi?p=../pci/pci_dio_120.html for inputs and outputs in groups of 24. I asked Camsoft about this one. They said it probably would work, no promises. Karl Karl |
