Hoping to make first paying chips on The Money Pit this week and my techie is "ALL ABOARD" a boat headed for Panama today. This machine is set-up to be a 5 axis, but to date we only have 4 hooked up. I doo not have a servo in the 5th yet, and will be using it as a half axis for now. We have ran G0's and G1's with good luck, but the first part that they want me to start with has some rads in the corners, and so to just see what I have to work with - I went into MDI and tossed in a quick prog to check the arc commands out. Whether I used R or I/J, once it reads a G3 command it throws a fault that reads: "5TH AXIS NOT DEFINED WHILE DOING CCW" Code = bla bla and more bla G1 X2.5 Y5. G17 (ass_u_me_ing that it should be default - but tossing it in just to make sure) G3 X0 Y7.5 I0 J5. (F100. previously coded in as well) more code beyond as well, but hangs on above line. If I throw an M2 in before the G3 - life is fine. Yank it back out - and we got 2012... (world comes to and end) The 5th may not be defined - but it wasn't defined on the previous X,Y, and Z moves in linear, so no idea what an arc in X and Y would have an effect on it for? I have semi limited knowledge of the innards of the putor program. I have seen most of the screens, and I can ussually follow what he is dooing. I can get to many of the screens as needed. Hopefully all info that I intended to put here is here. This is the second go-round for this post. Lets all hope things go well when I finish eh? (I will copy first this time!) ----------- Think Snow Eh! Ox Last edited by Ox1; 03-03-2010 at 08:32 AM. Reason: That was an X/Y arc, not X/Z. My bad... |

| Ox1 Karl's just trying to help. You've got something wrong with the logic inside G3 in the GCODE.FIL table that is using the 5th axis when it's not been set up or just disabled. Send us your latest CBK file BACKUP and then call into tech support if you need further assistance. We'll figure it out for you while you tech is out of town.
