    Cool Feed Back

Baldor said that the only way their servo drive could run the stainless steel servo motor was with feed back hooked directly to the drive. most of their drives read resolvers but He said that they also will simulate an encoder for feed back to the Galil card. Is this an OK way to run a servo or should I look at Servo Dynamics for a servo drive which will read an encoder?
    Thank You

With Galil you do not necessarily need intelligent drives, AMC, Copley Controls & Aerotech for example can be used, but the likes of Baldor that require the drive feedback, in your case, resolver, they invariably will output a psuedo differential encoder type output which can be used by the likes of Galil for feedback to the controller.
Often the resolution can be programmed also.
