STL support is currently in development and will appear in CamBam soon.

In the mean time, take a look at the most excellent and open source Meshlab utility http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/. As well as the ability to convert STL to 3DS format, which CamBam currently supports, it has many other useful features such as mesh repairing and down sampling.
