Hi
I have a small 3040 cnc machine , and use Cambam and Mach 3.
I can make my G code from DXF files using CAMBAM and load them onto Mach 3 no problem.. They work fine
Can someone tell me how I can predict where to put my material on my router bed.
I'm having to do a dummy run to see where the cutter will travel so I know where to place my material.
I bet its a simple answer so please dont laugh, I am trying hard .
Thank YOu for your time
WOuld it be better if I represented my material size on my original drawing, and then convert it to a DXF with my work located within the material confines, Then after importing it to Cambam put my machining origin at the say bottom left of my material Rectangle onthe Cambam screen, set up my operations (without including the material "rectangle" in any operations ,Then generate my gcode.
Then would I put my material on my router bed and set the router table origin to the bottom left corner of my material zeroing the xy coordinates in Mach 3
Yes, that's exactly how you would do it. Draw your stock having the 0,0 on say the lower left corner. Then zero your machine where ever your drawing zero is.
