Can you do 2.5d operations to imported 3d model?

If I have an 3d object imported from sketchup, can I select features to do profile and pocketing machining?

CamBam has an 'edge detect' function for 3D objects. You might be able to use that and perform profile and pocketing functions. Edge Detect is part of the CAD Extras Plugin released about a month ago. I believe it runs under Release 9L and 9M
