I would love some one to tell me were I am going to get a Cam program for $150 bucks that can do Trochoidal milling. Well CamBam is on it way to providing this option. I recently contacted one of the major Cam software companies and asked if it would do trochoidal milling and they said "No" can you beleive how shocked I was a package worth $3k and it didn't do it. So here is the video evidenace that it can be done with CamBam a program costing $150. In the video I am mill a16mm thick steel plate full depth at up to 2 metres per minute, yes not 2mm or 200mm per minute but at 2,000 mm per minute taking slices at 1 mm thick. As they say once you have tried trochoidal milling you will never go back its like a drug to us steel chippers. So watch and enjoy. Tony |

| Sniper can't get the program to load. Andy (the guy who owns & wrote CamBam) is writing a plugin to do what I did and make it simpler. I had to draw arcs and circle to do it. What I was doing was a proof of concept before the plugin. It a 16mm thick steel plate the cutter is a 14mm cardibe end mill and I am cutting fully depth 1mm in with each pass. Hope that helps. | Here is one that better shows the path (except for the shake). I am cutting 14mm deep 1mm bites thats why it gets 40 mm cut in 3 passes. Tony |

| Hi Sam, What I had to learn was don't let the end of the endmill touch down for any reason, what I mean is at that at this speed if the tip of the endmill has to cut full tool width it will distroy the end of the endmill, that knowledge cost me 3 endmills. Second leason is control the amount of bite I am at 1mm per pass even at 20mm deep on a 14mm cutter. If you overload the flutes with to much steel its all over the cutter will be destroyed, just go faster or deeper works best. I just tried to make a video of me milling using a cutter destroyed in a other video I up loaded. The lighting was bad but I will get it sorted and posted for all to see. Have a great day. Tony |
