I'm trying to get CanBam Gcode files to work in Kcam. I use CamBam to create a toothed gear. I can create the milling paths and view them in CamBam, and generate a Gcode file. When I open the Gcode file in Kcam, it compiles but hangs on "optimizing feed rates" and crashes Kcam. The GCode shows nicely in NCplot. Has anyone had this experience and can provide suggestions? Perhaps there's a setting on CamBam that Kcam can't digest? Any help is much appreciated. |

| I came across this CamBam forum post... http://www.cambam.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=714.0 It sounded like very small arc moves may have caused a problem for Kcam. The post above describes how you can change the CamBam post processor to set a minimum arc size. Arcs below this size will be output as line moves. Fingers crossed! ![]()
