I have a part that requires 1 M10X1.0 6H thread. We are using a 9.558mm pre-drill and a cold-forming tap. We have a go/no-go gage to check the pitch, but we are interested in measuring the ID of the threads after tapping. I cannot find any information in the Machinery's Handbook on this thread. Can anyone tell me what size pin gages we should use to check this diameter? Thanks!

Hi, there!
I wanna know why my reply to this thread is ALSO deleted! Did I violate any rules? Can anybody tell me why?

Hi,
If my understanding's right, all the data for a given ISO pitch is constant whatever diameter it's on.
So M10X1 is just M6 data (+ 4m.m.)
Works fine for every special pitch/dia combination I've used.
Hope this helps.
John.
Ken - M10 x 1, 6H inside thread:
Min. outer dia = 10.000
Min. Pitch dia = 9.350
Max. Pitch dia = 9.500
Min. Inside dia = 8.917
Max Inside dia = 9.153
Tol. on metric threads i.e. 6H are standard ISO tol. 6H. They are listed in reverse order to designate a thread.
Hope this helps-juergen
