    Exclamation Best Digital Caliper

What is the best digital caliper for around $200, ive been looking at the IP67 Waterproof Digimatic Mitutoyo 6 inch caliper in MSC for $217, also what is the SPC output used for?

MITUTOYO DIGIMATIC CALIPER 500-672 CD-6" PS.
    $195
The SPC output is for storing data on a computer or other data storing units.

Well, friends of mine have had the one you suggested and they have had problems.
Water getting in to the SPC output creating a short.
The one I suggested doesn't have a SPC output.
And I was wrong about the price. It's $153.

I like the 06230395.It has a ratchet thimble.I like to hear the clicks.
I guess it's just a matter of taste.

For my $0.02 worth, stick with brand names (Mitutoyo, Brown & Sharpe, Starrett). Any caliper or micrometer by these comapnies will give you great results--so long as you take care of it. Make sure that the resolution on your caliper/micrometer is correct. For a caliper, you want something that is at least +/- 0.001" and for a micrometer you'll want something that is at least +/- 0.0001". Don't get fooled by sale price calipers that are +/-0.010" (unless that's more than you need)

Keep 'em clean and treat 'em right and they'll last forever.

    take a look at tesa

    also
stay away from any mitutoyo made in brazil
i won t buy mit's anymore ,ive been burned twice by inferior crap calipers from them ,one was digital that the fixed jaw wasn t square and they were just wonky everywhere , mitutoyo rep wouldnt have anything to do with me about it , couldn t hold a measurement until i had to remachine the POS , , then i gave it another chance , bought the swiss style dial calipers , i figured how could they screw that up , i was wrong ! the only thing that may have resembled swiss was the appearance , sure ain t in the feel or the forever calibrating and adjusting !
at the price of them i've said nomore ,i can buy starrett or tesa for a little more

its shamefull ,they had great quality stuff

a couple guys at work have been thru the same thing , i'm not an isolated case ,

sorry for the rant but hate to see someone else get burned
