I have recently been introduced to a new measuring tool company call Asimeto none of my suppliers are carrying them yet, but will be soon. They are distributed by Sowa, but not all Sowa dealers will carry them. I can not find very much information on them, other than they are in the middle of Fowler-STM and Mitutoyo-Starrett for quality and price. I am supposed to get the first flyer here next week, but wonder if anyone else has dealt with this line of tools. One on my suppliers said they had some sample pieces and that they were very nice stuff.

I work at Quality Cutting Tools, and we sell this line form Sowa. We are located in Saskatoon. I have 2 flyers in PDF form and can email them to you. The Asimeto catalogue is available through mail. My email address is qcts@sasktel.net |

| I actually got my hands on some of them at the western Canada manufacturing show when it was in town. I must say that I was not very impressed at all, they are no better than the STM brand. I was expecting something that would me Mititoyo quality, or at least close.

I have a set of Asimeto micrometers, and find them every bit as good as mitutoyo, or any of the name brands. I have been machining for about 35 years and find too many people especially new people in the field get hung up on big names. There are lots of good tools and instruments out there. I still get good use of all the tools i've bought through out the years. |
