| we ll have coolant-proof verniers at work. we use mitutoyo, they claim to be absolute coolant proof and dirt proof - i havent had any problems yet. theyre are some other choices there is a brand called digi-proof theyre about half the price and claim to be absolute coolant-proof aswell. i think they are made by stanley or kingchrome - not sure.

| The Mitutoyo works well for me, but it's still new yet so I'm pretty careful.. An old Starrett dial winds up getting dropped into the coolant in the bottom tray pretty regularly, and is holding up very well, a quick blow off and it's good to go.. |

| Water proof is a mis-nomer. Mitutoyo's caliper is actually listed as coolant proof. Since the calipers are not made of stainless steel, they will rust if left in regular water. The coolant proof caliper is also IP66. http://www.bopla.de/english/technisc...onen/ip66.html |

| hi carbidecraters ! I own a TESA, IP65, and I washed it (im a soldier now) everyday "together" with my hands under running water. Coolant, no problem. Actually its probably the best piece of equipment ive ever owned, i love the accuracy as well. I think it was around 150$ |
