Our company recently purchased an Okuma mill MB-46VAE with a marposs 75p laser. We have limited CNC Mill experience, so this is a bit of a learning processes. Things have been progressing well except for issues with the laser.

The company who sold us the machine (a well known machine distributor I mite ad) claims (after the sale) that no one uses the laser to check the diameter of cutters. Well that is one of the main reasons we bought it. We hold extremely tight tolerances and need to check tool wear during production - hence the laser. I have contacted several of their staff, marposs themselves, and searched online with 0 results.

Is there anyone out there who uses a laser to check cutter diameter? Could someone could at least point me in the rite direction on to were to search?
At this point I can only use the laser to check length.

I should also note that the only manual we received was an installation type manual and did not contain any relevant material to usage.
