Anyone have a copy of the CMM handbook?

If so, any chance I can get an emailed copy?

    Thanks!

The CMM Handbook is from CMM Quarterly Publications and is sold as a printed copy. It is not available in .pdf format or any format that can be emailed. To copy it and provide it to another would violate the copyright laws.

If you need The CMM Handbook please feel free to contact me at info@cmmquarterly.com and we can talk about it.

While you are here. I would like to voice a pet peeve of mine. CMMQuarterlay is certainly not the only site that has this irritation, but you are here so I'll mention it to you.

I went to see what the CMM Handbook was about. I was disappointed that you did not CLEARLY publish a price for this manual. I had to click buy it now to find out it is $115.00. Why not just put it on the web site so we can understand what it costs?

Why is this done? Are you embarrassed that a useful manual costs money? Is the price dependent upon the asking party? I am certain the answer is different for each web site. It is universally annoying to me and others. Please, consider changing this policy on your web site.

There are reasons why it is not done but I've added for clarity.

    Mr. Boucher

Thank you for responding to my "rant". Would you, please, go one step further and enlighten me as to the benefits of not listing the price?

To me, through my cynical eyes, this practice implies a scam of some sort. I see it done in many places and each time, I become defensive and significantly less interested in the product being offered. In fact, I routinely click away from sites using this marketing technique without ever discovering the products true value to me.

To clarify why I think this technique is a scam: Not posting the price is a form of obfuscation. The seller is clearly hiding important information from the customer. If I detect that ploy, I immediately wonder: What else is being hidden that will burn me in the end?

I apologize for antagonizing you with these questions. Your site is not the only place I have observed this method in use. It is the first site where the responsible parties were willing to respond to my questions. Thank you.
