straightedge needed

i need an machinist straightedge about 24". i am new and do not know wher to look for.
does anyone know any webstore to look?

guys,
i found a reasonable priced straight edges in ebay for about 60-70$. some central tools brand.
do anyone of you knows that?

they advertice that the straight edge is coated with hard epoxy.
it makes me wonder if the epoxy coating is good or bad thing.
do anyone have an opinion?

I'd be suspicious of an epoxy coated straightedge. Don't know how long it would resist chips, dents and dings.

Try:

McMaster-Carr {Precision Straightedges}

We use the beveled rigid SS ones. A little $$y, but keep their straightness (we verify our gage's straightness daily with a certified granite surface and feeler gages - no change in over 2 yrs of daily use and abuse).

Link lists cheaper versions than the rigid-SS, but don't have experience with them. Nice thing is, they come with a guarenteed straightness.
