So, I had this bright idea after I received my Edge Pro Tram System that I would need a Square Cylinder to tram the column of my X3 mill. I found one online at Shars, so I ordered it. It just arrived it is a 4 inch diameter cylinder that is 12 inches in length and it weighs 46 pounds. I'll probably get a hernia lifting it and trying to gently place it on my X3's table. I should have bought the 6 inch in length one.
I'm not a machinist, but as I understand this. I should use the sq. cyl. and my dial indicator to tram the column over its travel (well at least over 12 inches).
Once that is done, then I should use the Edge Pro Tram System to tram the head itself.
