What version are you using? KeyCreator has some Sheet metal tools that may help.
I have been using Cad Key for solid modeling and tool path G coding. I would like to design and make a squirrel guard, from thin sheet metal, for the bird feeder. This would look like a rat guard for a ship's mooring line. More specifically, a truncated cone with a cylinder attached to the apex of the cone.
I have tried various combinations to develop the flat drawing of this and have not been successful. Perhaps model and remove faces or extrude faces? As powerful as CadKey is this seems to be doable but I have not broken the code. Looking for suggestions. Some call me Carlos.

Thanks for your response Moldy. I am using Cadkey 99 1.0
Do you have the fastsurf option loaded?
inside of Apps icon
There is the surface unwrap function
Cadkey 19
Pm me if you don't have it

Bostosh, Yes, I do have Fastsurf. I have tried your suggestion and keep getting an error message.
Fastsurf/Applications/Unwrap/Enter the chord height tolerance/0.010/Select the surfaces to unwrap/Single/ Error message “No Surface entities selected”
I've modeled the truncated cone using solids Create Solid.
The hierarchy of geometry is wire to surface to solids.
you must reduce the solid to a surface to unwrap which generates wires
Fastsurf is a derivative of something we used in Aerospace to unwrap complex geometry for cutting sheet composite materials

Thanks Bostosh, I have cobbled something together using your leads, and a thousand nods of the head against a brick wall, and I can construct a developed truncated cone with a small cylinder on the small end. Some call Me Carlos.
