Mate of mine built one ..... there are a couple of different designs by Atkinson so which one were you after ???? One here is the lever style 4 stroke in one crankshaft revolution.
Jeff
Hi,
does anyone here have plans for an Atkinson cycle engine. The Gingery book is unavailable, so I was hoping that someone here has some plans they would part with or even have that book they would be willing to sell. Looks like a pretty neat design, and I'd like to make one some day
Thanks

Thats the one Jeff. Looks pretty neat huh? I ordered the Gingery book about the Atkinson differential engine which has two pistons in one cylinder; looks interesting too

Can get you a couple of photos and I'll ask about where he obtained the plans. He made up patterns and his own castings as well.
It is, as you say, pretty neat. Especially when it fires up so easily and to have all those levers swinging in the breeze. Between us we have made quite a few engines and this was the only one to ever go first flick of the flywheel ( steam engines excluded) Also know about differential engine. Another old bloke here (about 85) is making one now. anyhow, give me a few days and I'll see what I can find out.
Jeff
This is all I can find for the engine. It was made from castings. I don't do castings so I'll make it out of billet.
Thank you for your help
