    Head castings

Just got these little beauties from Bruce Satra. They are investment cast and are very well done indeed. They are for the Pratt and Whitney Wasp Jr. and the Morton M5. I'm amazed at the talent out there!

Bruce is a great guy to work with. I bought my Morton set from him about 8 years ago. Still have yet to finish it up. It is 80% done, but have had no real time to complete it since we moved. I need to get the shop siding completed so I can get back to all my other projects inside.

Incidently, one thing I had noticed on all the Morton cylinders is one rocker tower is not directly lined up with the valve stem center. The rocker is wide enough to push on the valve, but it does look a little bit odd. I don't know if this distortion is from cooling of the wax, aluminum or in the mold itself.

The finish of all the castings is very nice. I would love to have that capability in my own shop.
