For the R2E3 settings for FIST serial is 9600 baud ,1 stop, no parity, 8 bit data (as per maint manual page 8-1)
Hi
Tried getting the FIST monitor to work, wired a plug to my FMDC board K3 connection, pins 1 & 3 to a DB9. Reset mill and had a bunch of gobbly gook show up on teraterm. My baud was set at 1200 on teraterm com 1. I believe the FMDC only accepts 1200 baud? If not is there a way to check the baud rate?
Also my cable is longer than 15' perhaps that is causing some issue?

I was looking at R/H column of page 8.1 second paragraph it shows 1200 baud?
Or is that for something else? I don't see ref. to 9600 Baud.
Thats the R2E4 manual, the R2E3 is 9600. Although many of the items are the same, and sometimes the explaination is better in one manual compared to the other, there are some weird differences. Like why is a newer machine at such a slow baud rate.
Thanks John, the 9600 Baud and FIFO buffers did it!!
Well it doesn't tell me a lot.
after the line type "H" for help it shows this
