    changing transformer wiring?

Picked up a bp ezpath last week. Back panel has 460 3phase on it. Wired it up as such. Control came up just fine. Turned on the spindle and it started "growling" (for lack of a better word), then kicked on. I had run the machine before I bought it and knew this wasn't right.
I called the previous owner and he said "Ow, I changed the wiring on it to run 220 3 phase."

    !@#$!!

There is a transformer in the cabinet with a chart for voltage / wire positions. Is this where it would be changed back to run off of my 460 3ph?
    I'll go take a picture.

Trace the supply from the main fuse/disconnect, the transformer should be first in line after the fuses, If so you should be able to go from the chart on the front, it looks like it may be the one you change, can you post a closer up pic of the chart?
You may have to change the fusing to allow for the lower current on 460v.

    Thanks for the help Al.
Pulled the motor cover.Wires are connected as follows:
    U1-1T1
    V1-1T3
    W1-1T2
    U2-2T1
    V2-2T3
    W2-2TU
Two smaller wires,111 and 110, connected to two wires that have no tags.
    have fun

The two small 110/111 wires are most likely a thermal detector.
Does the motor appear to be wired to both a reversing contactor and a two speed contactor?
From what I can see the motor is 460v only 2-speed?
If it has no dual speed contactor then it could be wired as per the RH diagram on the plate.
The transformer just need the appropriate taps changed on the line for 460.
The previous owner may have wired it for Delta connection for the lower voltage.

Yes, there is a switch on the machine to go from low to high. He was running 220 3phase.
Do I need to change the U and W wires on the motor back to what the plate reads? They are inverted according to the plate.
    thanks

They should conform to the plate diagram, the puzzling thing is it shows Delta as low speed and Y as high sp?

I rewired the motor to the plate specs. Low spindle speed runs fine and in correct direction. When I switch to high speed, the motor starts to turn but dies, and throws the machine into an error.
    Thanks for the help Al.

EZpATH 1 would dim the lights at a show when trying to spool up to the highest speed. Current draw is enormous.
Some machines had a transformer for the whole machine beneath the tail stock. You should take a peak there. Easier than retapping every transformer.
EZPATH 2 and newer had a spindle drive that was a fixed voltage.
