    metric threads with ez-path 1

can anyone explain to me how to set up the bridgeport/romi ez/path for metric threading? I have set the control for mm display, but when I go to enter the parameters for threading all of the fields still refer to TPI. Thanks in advance for any help you could shed!!

Thanks ir, Im not sure what you mean to convert lead to english? Im trying to cut metric threads, not english. am I mis understanding you? do I input the diameters and length in metric or english? should I keep the DRO display in inches or metric? or does it matter? sorry for the "newbie" questions, Ive cut miles of metric threads on a manual machine. but not on a bridgeport/romi.

    Hey there.
I had same problem with mine. Turned out the problem was me.
you have the option of "tpi" or "lead" on the F3 or F4 button.
Either enter it as ".75" 0r convert to tpi. ie 25.4 divide by .75 = 33.8666 tpi
    hope this helps.
I used .75mm as thats the thread i am doing at this moment. But same applys for any metric thread.
    Later Sean.

I also convert to English. Take 25.4 / threads. Then when entering the the first line under threading, hit * to enter calculator. Enter 1 / the result in the above formula.

    Example:

    25.4 / 1.25mm = 20.32

    Enter calc with *

    1 / 20.32 = .0492

You should also see the depth of the set automatically.

When this is done on the first line of threading you should see it enter the proper converted data.
