We're having a disagreement in the shop about how fast you can safely run a lathe chuck. Fueling this disagreement is this picture ![]() I think that is depicting the max rpm for a four-jaw chuck all the way opened. Any takers on what they are trying to nail down with that sticker? Thanks Adam |

| Well, being a non-decent chuck, it has nothing stamped on it. Initial conversations with Romi proved they were putting this sticker on all their lathes and sales had no idea what it meant. They have gotten back to me and said the max RPM is for a four-jaw chuck. Like you said, it all depends on the chuck. For the 10" 3-jaw provided, they say max 1200. The sticker just confuses everyone |
