HI, I have a similar issue to Pofo. I am trying to reduce the backlash on my X & Y axis. I am not exactly sure how to put the angular contact bearings back on. Both the bearings have an arrow etched on the outer race. Need to know which way I should point the arrows, at each other or away from each other.? I would think you wouldn't point them in the same direction, but I am just not sure. Any one know how these should go. Thanks, Craig |

| Normally, the arrows on the bearings (known as chevrons) are different on each bearing. The two bearings when put together should form one continuous "arrow" exactly like the " > " symbol. They will only match up one way to form the symbol. |

This may be of interest to those on the forum. There is a seller on ebay right now that has those ultra quality ballscrew bearings that NcCams has written about many times. They are 20TAC47 DF P4 matched pairs and only $105 a pair!!! That is dirt cheap! I bought a couple pairs and they are beautiful. Thought others here might want to jump on this deal. |

Well they have to mount one of two ways, either DF or DB. A quick google will show you the two methods. In either case, the two arrows will point either directly at each other or away. I would guess they point at each other in their intended mounting configuration (DB/DF). |
