Hello, I'm new here to the site & want to thank all of those who assist those of us who need the help. I have a Bridgeport Boss 5 machine, in fact I have 2. The 1 machine I have has had a serial port RS-232 cable connected to the 3 wires of the K-6 plug on the ESR board for the transfer of programs to the machine. Everything with this machine works fine. The second machine is again a Bridgeport Boss 5 machine. I have installed this same serial port cable set up to it & have had different problems getting the computer to recognize the machine to transfer a program. After numerous issues like changing out ESR boards, RCK boards & then finally changing out the bolt on board for the Z drive that goes on the inside of the back door of the logic control cabinet. Once this was done I could finally transfer data. And ran the machine for a few hours. The machine was shut off for 2 days & when powered back up. The operator's main control panel would reset n read no error codes but could not be cleared to do MDI input to drives or anything.. We have since changed out the ACC board & that has given me back the Y axis drive & a skipping X drive. The Z drive can be heard like its running but no movement. Can some1 give me an idea of where I should start looking to solve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.. Gsparkey |

| Do you have the maintenance manual? I believe you may have shorted transistors in the final drive section. 2N6547. But I would also check the DC current and make sure it does not exceed 8 amps and that the output of T2 does not go higher than 63VAC. Start there. George

| George, thanks, I have read some other post on here where you have told people the same thing & will be checking the voltage & amps on T2 & also adjusting the voltage to the drives using the pots on the ACC board to read 7.95 volts.. As far as the Maintance manual goes I only have a programing manual & an operator's manual, i have both on cd. If you know of any place i can get a manitenace manual I would appreciate it. Thanks Again I will keep you poted what I find out.. Greg Spangler |

| Maintenance manual available on CDROM from machinemanuals.net for a reasonable sum. ACC sets the CURRENT which is measured in amps. There may be other items to check but check these first. George
