Need Help!- TNC151 Drip Feed

Hi,

I have a Bridgeport Series2 Interact 4 with Heidenhein TNC151 (I am not sure if it is A or B. How do I tell?)

I recently bought BobCad CadCam software and have the PC suscesfully "talking" with the machine.

I can download/upload files OK.

Ideally I would like to drip feed the machine as the 1000 line restriction is a problem.


As I understand it, I have to Change the mode from EXT to FE?? I can not seem to find any options to do this? Its not in the MOD menu..



When I try and drip feed I press the EXt key while in the run programme mode but I just get a "key non function" error

If I change parameter 223 from 0 to 1 and do the same as above it comes up with Blockwise transfer. But I still can't get the information uploaded!?

I use BobCad's interface. Could this be the problem??

Or is the TNC just not able to drip feed??


I have the original manuals with the machine but the only describe the machine parameters from 1-217.

I have a feeling that the parameters 218 onwards have something to do with the blockwise transfer.

Any Info on any aspect of drip feeding would be much apprieceted!

Maybe you've already tried this, but call Heidenhain USA in Chicago @ 1-800-233-0388 and ask for Rick the TNC guy. I have to believe he knows pretty much all there is to know about these controls.
