Newbie here from steel fab shop Looks like we have 2 Bridgeport Boss series rigid ram mills We use a old win95 pc with Tera Term program/terminal emulator to send txt files for drilling parts etc. via 9 pin-serial/com port 1. wheres the s/n located, I looked on the knee like some sites said and all I found was "CNC2230" 2. wheres a good source for manuals? 3.can these old mills electronics/hardware be updated to run newer software? 4. current problem: when I send a txt file to drill four holes it only drills 3 and quits. when I tell the mill to list the file it seems to receives it fine. this all happened after both my 25 pin (Motherboard) com ports burned out and I had to install a PCI com port card. the new PCI com port card is a 9 pin and I converted it with a qvs brand "XT Mouse to AT" 9 pin/25pin adaptor. Any ideas? |
