Need Help!- Boss 5 parts

Does anybody know where I can get a saturable reactor for a boss 5. thanks Larry

I am in the process of switching my bridgeport over to servos. I would have all three reactors from my mill available. I have all the parts ready, I just haven't had time to do it, and I don't want to start taking it apart until I know I have time to get it back together. If you're not in a huge hurry, shoot me a PM and when I get things apart I can send you one.

If you are really hurting for it, the only thing they do is provide the DC power for each axis. You could buy a linear power supply of the proper voltage and current and put it in the reactors place. You would have to investigate where exactly it should be placed in the circuit but that should provide a fix. Something like 60V and 10A? Should be less than $200 on ebay. Look for the guy selling toroidal power supplies. Antek or something like that.

I've got three sitting in my garage floor (in Alabama) out of a friend's Boss 5. I've been wondering what I could use them for and have pretty much decided the answer is "nothing worthwhile".

Are you sure it is actually bad? That is a fairly tough component, so it seems odd.
If it is misbehaving, it is more likely to be the transistor that controls the winding
rather than the reactor itself.
