Newbie- Bridgeport VMC 500 with Fanuc Series O-M

hi,

I am used to working SCM machines, through posts etc, and i have a basic programming knowledge, but this has stumped me.

I have got a bridgeport VMC miller and am having trouble inputtuing any MDI codes etc. I can jog the 3 axis with controls or the toggle wheel, but i cannot input code through MDI.

I have got the key turned horizontal (which is correct i believe) but as i have no manual I am scratching my head to be honest.

Has anyone out there got a programming manual, or could you give me a few pointers. I.e can you 'teach in' through the mdi?

Any help would be very gratefully received.

When you are in MDI mode and start typing do the numbers appear at the bottom of the CRT? If so you should be able to type what you want say M3S100; then but a EOB and press insert or input. The code should then move to the top of the CRT which at this point you press cycle start to execute the code.

Have you tired it with the key in both positions?
