    Boss Air Brake

    Hi

I've just put the air brake back on my Boss, it works well when you turn the spindle on and off quickly but when you leave the spindle running for a long time it will coast to a stop before the brake even comes on.

I take it this isn't normal.

I think it may have something to do with the spindle contacts as these are sticky, I've had problems with starting the spindle when the machine gets warm so it could posisbly be that.

Any ideas about cleaning the contacts? in situ preferably.

Wonder if the air cylinder is gummed up?

The air cylinder is brand new, it works fine.

Been looking at it again, I'm now fairly certain it is the spindle contacts as you can here them clicking in and out so when its been running for a while and you switch it off the motor turns off then a while later I hear a relay click the brake comes on.

    Thanks

    Chris
