Bridgeport R2E3 "Fist" monitor cable | |
Have two factory " Installation and Maintenance" manuals for this machine, and both give different configuration for cable.
#1 manual (machinemanuals.net)- The signals on pins 1 through 4 are RS-422 compatable.
RS-232 devices can be used for distances less than 15
feet by connecting the device's transmitted data to pin 1
and the received data to pin 3. A reference level must be
provided on pin 2 by connecting pin 3. A reference level
must be provided on pin 2 by connecting the device's
signal common.
#2 manual (Preliminary for reference- June,1983 -11040529)- The signals on pins 1 through 4 are RS-422 compatable. RS-232
devices can be used for distances less than 15 feet by connecting
the device's transmitted data to pin 1 and the received data to
pin 3. A reference level must be provided on pin 2 by connecting
the device's signal common.
#1 would short the recieve data to ground and #2 does not balance outputs
as rs422 is 0 to 5 volts and 232 is -12 to 12volts, I wish not to do more damage.
Has anyone with this machine the correct pinout configuration that works?  |
