I swapeed the the chokes for X an Y. the noise goes away completely and doesn't follow but still throw a gross positioning error on X at higher feed rates
I have had problems with the X movements on my mill since I bought the machine. At higher feed rate it would throw a gross positioning error. I recently had to replace the X board and noticed when I was swapping boards to diagnose the bad board that the noise stayed wtih X at low feedrates you don't really hear it but as you raise the feed rates up it get worse and at some point it will throw a gross positioning error. today when I was looking at the machine and getting the noise you could feel the whole electronics cabinets shaking and it realy felt like it was coming from the choke transformers. should I try swapping out the transformers like I did on the drive boards and see if the problem follows? any suggestions would be extremely helpful

I swapped the chokes back to there original positions and the noise came back
You may have more than one issue.
If you turn the ballscrew by hand, how does it feel?
It may have a bad bearing or a bad ball screw. How well is it oiling?

I took the cover off the X axis motor so I could get to the end of the ball screw. the shaft turns easily although I can feel a bump every couple of rotations. I checked the ways and they got oil on them
