knee weight

Does anyone know the approximate weight of the knee on a 10x54 table floor mill? I am wanting to add some helper cylinders, but do not want to go overboard.

I added 4 cylinders that gave 520lbs of force, and there is still some resistance, but it has helped a HUGE amount, even cranking by hand isn't a chore anymore. I can now jog the table up and down at about 80 inches a minute, which is more than I really need at the moment, but still nice to have. Sometime in the future I would like to figure out how much weight is left to counter, but for now the little weight that is there is taking up any backlash.

Don't over-think this. It's really not critical. Anything you do will help, and the only way to determine the "best" load is trial and error. On my 9x49, I used two 200# cylinders, which seems about right. If anything, a bit too much, as the knee now moves up just a bit more easily than down. But, since the cylinders are only about $20 each, even if you choose wrong the first time, it won't cost much to just buy another pair of cylinders and try again.
