BRIDGEPORT CNC SERIES II R2E4 loses program I load the program into the controller via my PC. On the machine controller I “search” for the last line of the program to verify that the complete program is in the controller. Then I turn on the spindle, reset the program and start cutting. It will cut for a random period of time, maybe 1 hour, then stop. The spindle is still running, but all movement has stopped. The controller displays “EOT” as if the program is complete. Upon review, the controller “memory” has “lost” a huge chunk of the program. I have replaced the batteries in the control panel, but still no change. Any suggestions?? |

| Hi, Did You do know there are 2 sets of batteries on the R2E3? 1 set is behind the front control panel with the LCD, the other is in the Electrical enclosure behind the swing-out panel. that's the only thing i could think of, Cutmore |

Are you sure about the (2) sets of batteries?? I can only find the (4) AA battery pack in the control panel. I took off the cover behind the CRT, but nothing there. Where else should I look?? Do I need to remove the back cover plate behind the "soft touch" key pad?? |

| Hi, the back cover plate behind the "soft touch" key pad is exactly where the battery was on mine. Mine is a Boss 8 but I am pretty sure you will find the battery in the same place. From what I remember the battery behind the keypad is the one for back-up storage of the "soft parameters" like the tool-offsets, Maybe program storage as well. Hope that helps, Cutmore |

| R2E4 has 4 AA batteries. To lose a program, the memory refresh might be having issues. If the voltage drops the control should reboot. Batteries hold program (or most of it) when the control is off. I believe the program resides on memory chips on the EZIO but I might be wrong. I need to read the description of the logic boards. Or you can. It is in the maintenance manual. Mine is at the office. George
