    TC-22 Problem

I was running my Torgue Cut 22 on some parts I have to get done and it stated acting up.
I was on my 4th part when the DX32 screen frooze up,it was black at the very bottom but the rest of the normal screen was still showing.
In the black area it had a message that said:
M6101 run time error floating point -error invalid.
    C:/
The readouts and the rest of the screen was frooze but the machine just kept running.
It went thru the last tool change in the program and finished the part no problem.
When the program was done I attempted to restart the machine from the c:/ with run and enter.
It then told me I must reload the executive software.
I shut the machine down and restarted it and it will try to load but keeps coming up to the c prompt.
I wanted to get some expert advice as to what to try before I start doing something I don,t know.
I was thinking maybe the harddrive but would the machine keep running?
I knew this day was coming but hoped it was awhile away.
I don,t expect anything major because the machine kept running fine.
I have 14 more of these parts to get done,I just don,t want to have to do them on my series II without the toolchanger.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

I did some reading ithe manual and went back out to check to see if I could read the c drive from the c prompt and when I started the machine it booted right up and runs fine.
I am going to try running another couple parts parts tommorrow night and see if the same thing happens again.
I would like to know how to go about backing up the machine software just incase.
I have a backup disk for the machine but thought I would make a couple extras from the pc now.

Remember that the machine actually has 2 processors. The mother board has one and does the interfacing of the machine to you and the other processor which is on the BMDC.
The BMDC runs the machine. It will continue to run even when the screen is locked up.
Something on the PC side may be causing the floating point error. That is usually a software error. the mother board cannot do the math. Possibly erroneous data. might be a hard drive failing. Bad connection to the I O board. Clean and reseat everything. Could even be thermal. Check all filter and fans, even the one in the logic power supply.

    Once again Thank You George,
I will start checking everything you suggest.
I was thinking today I got that floating point error just after I got the machine home and I cleaned evrything and never had it again until now.
