Hi All, I'm new to this forum and would like to ask for some advice from the experienced ones amongst us! I have a 2 axis EZplus Bridgeport circa 2004 model and have been looking for a 3rd axis extension kit for this mill. I have enquired with Bridgeport for the kit only to fall over at the price!! Therefore I have come to the decision to manufacture/buy my own parts. The hardware should be easy enough to make for the quill, but it is the motor/contoller that I will struggle with. I have the manual with this mill and a wiring diagram that details what you need to do to install the Bridgeport supplied kit, such as changing jumpers in the electrical cabinet etc. I also have the 3 1/2" floppy that says it is 2/3 axis software on the label. Therefore I think all I need are the parts. So, would it be easy just to look at the spec of the motors and drive card already fitted and buy the same? How do I switch/load the software for 3 axis mode, or does the system recognise when a 3rd axis is installed, by the jumpers maybe? Also, do you know when in 3 axis mode, can you do simultanious 3 axis profiling? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve |

Hello Steve where abouts in the UK are you I have a three axis EZPLUS similar age, if you are local you are more than welcome to look over my machine with the view to copying the parts I also have the instaltion details for this modification. As to whether you can do three axis interpolation is debatable. If you are near Nottingham give me a ring on 01159389014, or email colinwildgust158@btinternet.com Cheers Colin |

Hi Colin, many thanks for the reply. I will send you a PM or give you a call. I live just South of York, so not that far away. Would be great if I could come and have a look at the 3rd axis install. Cheers Steve |
