[Minnesota HD 10]

In retrofiting boss 10 on a series 1 bridgeport to mach 3, what would be the disadvantages or advantages of using the boss 10 power supply,24 volt system for the axies drives and moter contactor.

I have a boss 9 which i don't think its too far off from a Boss 10.

If you are technical enough to use all the old power supplies then you will be way ahead of the game. All the PS's are setup up perfectly for each component on the machine. The problem is figuring out where all the wires lead too. Since you are retrofitting it you have to bypass the old controller and use BOB. It starts to get challenging when your dealing with 3 phase power stepping down to 1 phase.

My Boss 9 had about 9 different power supplies and most of them were all different sizes, and was just too confusing to me figure out what goes where. I ended up using all new PS for everything and it has made it much easier knowing what I'm using.

thank you for the reply. I have not started this retrofit yet, i do have all of the electrical diargrams for this machine and know where the wires go. not all that sure i know how to hook up to breakout board. I have been researching this for some time but have not sean much about wiring configerrations.
