Question, I upgraded a Bridgeport boss 5 machine with steppers to a Mach 3 and gecko drives. The machine has been running great for two years, perfect. I would like to do another upgrade with to an older Bridgeport with servos using the same upgrade equipment, Mach 3 and Gecko drives. I am skeptical about a Gecke / servo upgrade. Gecko says that theor drives will work with servo permanent magnet motors. Has anyone out there done this and I would your feedback. I am well aware of the advantages of servo vs. stepper drives. I am just trying to fond out if I can succesfully upgrade a bridgeport, that I do not have yet, with Gecko drives and a Mach 3 system. |
