Unhappy bridgeport boss 5 lsi11

I have a late 70s early 80s series 1 bridgeport boss 5 cnc, not sure what year. I have run it off a three hp phase converter for about threee years until now. I started the converter up and then the machine and immediately came up with the dreaded 70007 error. I was wondering if anyone has ever recovered from this error or found some way to fix it? I am told the lsi11 board is probably bad but im not sure yet? The spindle starts but i have no axis motion control. I have also checked, cleaned, reseated, and pressed the chips on the card but to no avail. I have all the original manuals and circuit diagrams but it doesnt help much cause i took out the tape reader in favor of pc programming and loading. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Probably LSI-11 AKA a Digital Equipment Co Kd11L board. Google this board.
Check logic supply. Fan beneath boards.
What LEDs are lit on front panel?

update still need help

I finally got my internet going again to respond to threads. The knowledge you guys have is greatly appreciated. I pulled the lsi board out and cleaned it again but to no avail. I checked the voltages at the blue and lavender wires and found they were almost right on, only off by about +-.10 volt. I didnt think this would cause the problems associated with the lsi board but i adjusted them to be right on anyways. When you power up the machine the goto, hold, f, s, and t lights are on but you cant do anyting with the machine. When you hit the red reset button the air brake resets and then you can start/stop the spindle but thats all. any info would be appreciated or if i should be looking for a new type of controller. thanks

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!

I just got a series 1 cnc and I have the same 70007 error. I was messing with the reset, clear, and load switches by the tape reader, then the alarm went away. I got the spindle to turn on, but could not get x,y, or z to move. So I powered it down, turned it back on and I could not get the 70007 # to clear.?

Bridgeport Series I CNC hook up to computer

Hi:

I have a bridgeport series 1 2 hp cnc mill which I am trying to get up and running. Circa 1980

We have connected the machine to the computer using a RS 232 kit and software purchased on the internet.

After connecting to the machine and downloading the software, we are able to communicate with the machine. This is not a retrofit to new controls, we intend to use the Boss 5 system installed in the machines computer.

We ran a sample program which came with the software and the machine ran throug the cycle just fine the first time.

If I repeat the process, the machine only runs the first line of code and stops.

Your thoughts and comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Andy
