DNC to TOrq Cut 22

I have a Torq Cut 22, there doesnt seem to be a RS 232 port available to connect for DNC. Can I install any 32 bit PCi card or do I need to purchase the bridgeport part. The electronic layout has a port that I cannot find. There are two openings for PCI cards, the second slot is already being used. If I install the card do I have to change any settings in the BIOS?

Any help would be great

EMI has a network package available that I purchased for my 760-22 w/DX32control .....easy decision for me....my motherboard had died at the time and I bought the new one with the network package installed
I transfer the file via the network then dnc it from the hard drive

You might be at a disadvantage as at this age the chances that your control is 'stock" are not that great.
The original had a I/O card installed into a ISA slot. This card had ribbon connectors to the hard drive and floppy and had a serial port and parallel port. The serial port had a plug and cable that went out to the "fire-wall" with a DB-25 connector.
Later machines had on board Com ports which also went to the electrical cabinet wall as a DB-25 connector.
If you are expecting a DB 9 you are mistaken.

ISA card

I saw the card with ribbon cables, but there is no serial connection for an rs 232
cable. I have an old I/o card that I am going to try to install. Will the system recognize it as if it were a com port? Also if it does install will I need a special configured RS 232 cable to be able to drip feed?

I found the connection

There is a DB 25 port, can I just get a DB 25 to DB 9 adapter and then use a standard cable to run a DNC?

Again, I do not know what is in your machine. But: Typically DNC was done from the floppy or from the hard drive. The RS232 was used to get the program to the hard drive. But this is a slow process for large programs.
Years ago I installed a super drive on a machine that did patterns. This was faster.
I have a pile of machine that have switched to WIN 3.11 for workgroups. This allows them to use a ethernet card to download large programs to the hard drive and DNC from there.

I wanted to the machine to make some molds and I know the post will be huge even when I write some macros, the floppy drive will not drip feed, it only downloads the file in one shot. I appreciate all your info, I found a cheap DNC program kwickDNC or something like that for 70bucks between that and the cable it would be about a 100 to try it. Are there any free DNC downloads
